ISLAMABAD - Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif yesterday announced building cricket stadium in Khyber Agency and a modern sports complex in the North Waziristan Agency.
According to ISPR, he made the announcement while speaking to the crowd at FATA Youth Festival in Peshawar.
The army chief said that successes in operation Zarb-e-Azb will be carried forward in future, adding that he is proud to be in the stadium with proud, talented and confident youth of FATA.
He said that the security situation in the country is far better than before.
General Raheel Sharif said that the presence of large number of people in the stadium is admirable and is a defeat to the enemy forces, adding that the success is due to tribal brothers, military, law enforcement and due to sacrifices of people. He said that the fight against terrorism has been going on for a long time and would continue to do so in the form of success in operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Talking about China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), General Raheel Sharif said that this corridor speaks of the achievements of armed forces, nation and brave masses of FATA.
Highlighting the abilities of the youth of FATA, General Raheel said that the former have shown their performance in all walks of life and will continue to do so if more opportunities are given. He assured the crowd of army’s capabilities saying that it will never let the nation down.
