Commissioner distributes cheques among Christians

Bahawalpur - Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Muhammad Zafar Iqbal distributed cheques of Rs 5,000 each to 38 members of the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas in a function organised by the Department of Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab at Ibn Maryam Church Islamic Colony Bahawalpur, 

Additional Commissioner Inquiry Tariq Bukhari, Additional Commissioner Revenue Mehr Khalid, Assistant Commissioner General Liaquat Ali Gilani, Chairman Bait-ul-Maal Committee Bahawalpur Syed Salahuddin Jilani. Members of the Christian community including Tariq Majeed Chaudhry, Director Social Welfare Sehar Siddique, Deputy Director Muhammad Uzair, Father Iftikhar Moon, Bishop Naeem Issa and President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Minority Wing Amir Bhatti were present. Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Muhammad Zafar Iqbal while expressing his views said that teaching of humanity has been given priority in all religions.

Rights of worship are of fundamental importance in Islam and followers of all religions have equal freedom in Pakistan, he said.

He further said that the establishment of Pakistan and Tehreek-e-Pakistan also included the sacrifices of the elders of the Christian community and their services in the development of the country were commendable.  Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Muhammad Zafar Iqbal also hinted at measures for construction of Islamic Colony Road and rights of Kacchi Abbadi population.

Governing body 

of Danish Schools Hasilpur meets

The Governing Body of Danish Schools Hasilpur met at the Committee Room of the Deputy Commissioner Office here Thursday. 

The meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Irfan Ali Kathia. The meeting was attended by Prof Dr Mamuna Ghani, Sumaira Malik, Principal Danish School for Girls Shahla Farhan, and Principal Danish School for Boys Muhammad Akram. The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects at the schools. Deputy Commissioner directed early completion of development projects and asked to ensure high quality of work. 

He said that all facilities for high quality education will be provided at Danish Schools. He directed Municipal Committee Hasilpur to remove waste from school premises. He appreciated the plantation at school campuses. Principals apprised the meeting about the progress of the schools and gave details about co-curricular and extracurricular activities at the school.
