PTI MNA accuses Khattak of favouring Fazl’s blue-eyed

ISLAMABAD - An enraged lawmaker of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has accused Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of having covert friendly relations with chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, asking Imran Khan to take notice of the issue.
MNA Dawar Khan Kundi, who represents Tank in National Assembly, has written a letter to PTI’s chief Imran Khan, alleging that Amir Khattak, protocol staff officer (PSO) to chief minister KP, had been given responsibilities to look after the interests of JUI-F in Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s hometown constituencies — NA-24 and NA-25.
A letter addressed to Imran, a copy of which is available with The Nation, reveals that Kundi has indirectly accused Chief Minister Pervez Khattak of favouring JUI-F’s men in the province. Kundi continues to reveal that Amir Khattak was taking directions and orders from a seminary of Maulana Fazlur Rehman in DI Khan and was meddling in the affairs of the district.
The PTI lawmaker says that Amir, while serving as DCO in DI Khan, was allegedly found guilty of negligence in notorious jailbreak occurred on July 29, 2013. He regrets that instead of being removed from official responsibilities, the DMG officer was unlawfully given a more high-profile job.
“It is rumoured that Amir Khattak’s posting as PSO to CM was made on the recommendations of JUI-F chief. It means that there is a covert friendship between Rehman and chief minister KP,” the PTI lawmaker added.
The PTI chief has been informed that Amir being DC Tank was allegedly involved in siphoning off government money released for release of the kidnapped levies personnel, requesting Imran Khan to order probe into the issue.
“Keeping in view the above facts, I am hereby protesting and complaining as to why the KP government and PTI leadership are silent over the serious issue. This issue may worsen in near future,” the letter reads.
