World’s most expensive Ferrari on sale

THIS stunning Ferrari has become one of the world’s most expensive cars for sale after an English dealer put it on the market for an eye-watering £5 million. The 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder is regarded as one of the most beautiful cars ever built.
It is one of the finest collaborations in engineering history - with Enzo Ferrari enlisting Pininfarina to design the model and Scaglietti to build it. As a result of its looks and performance the car now commands a staggering price-tag - with Ascot-based Talacrest offering it for £5million. For the same price, you could buy an eight-bedroom country home in Kent, 28 Ferrari 458s or a used Learjet. However, with the value of classic Ferraris sky-rocketing this model could even be a savvy buy. This particular model, which the 53rd of 55 built, has starred in a number of films, with screen beauty Cameron Diaz driving it in the 2003 movie Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. When it left the factory in 1963, the Ferrari was grey but it was later re-sprayed red. However, the car was recently sent back to Italy for a full “nut and bolt” restoration that included returning it to its original colour. Lurking beneath the jaw-dropping exterior is a 3-litre V12 engine which develops 280bhp - a considerable amount for a car which turns 50 next year.                     –TS
