CM chairs meeting to devise corporate agriculture farming policy

Says CPEC to be harbinger of development, prosperity for country

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday chaired a meeting at his office to formulate the corporate agriculture farming policy. He directed to finalise the corporate agriculture farming policy within the next few days to allot lands to Chinese investors for corporate agriculture farming.

Chairman CPEC Authority Lt. Gen. (R) Asim Saleem Bajwa, Advisor Dr Salman Shah, SMBR, Chairman P&D, secretaries of industries and agriculture departments, CEO PBIT, Chairman Faisalabad Industrial Estates Development and Management Company Mian Kashif Ashfaq, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and others attended the meeting. 

The CM vowed ingenious work for agricultural development as it would strengthen the provincial economy. The research would particularly focus on high yield seeds, he added and maintained that corporate agriculture farming was the need of the hour to maintain national food security. Meanwhile, different facilities have also been provided to Chinese investors in Faisalabad’s special economic zone and the government will welcome Chinese investment in corporate agriculture farming, he stated.  The CM said the multibillion dollars CPEC project will generate lakhs of new employment opportunities through a boost in economic activities. CPEC is a game-changer enterprise to augur well for the development and prosperity of the country, concluded Usman Buzdar.  

CM attends ceremony to mark the 70 years of Pakistan-China friendship

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and provincial ministers attended a ceremony at CM Office to mark 70 years of Pakistan-China friendship. They held national flags of Pakistan and China in their hands and chanted ‘long live Pakistan-China friendship’ while expressing good wishes for both countries. 

Addressing the ceremony, the CM said the journey of Pakistan-China friendship spans over seven long decades. This period contains numerous stories of mutual respect, brotherly relations and sincerity, he added. The Pakistan-China friendship has passed every test of time and the brotherly relations are regarded as unique in the comity of nations, he said. 

During the tenure of PM Imran Khan, the CM expressed the satisfaction that brotherly relations were touching new heights. It is sanguine that China has always extended full support to Pakistan in every hour of trial, he maintained. It is satisfying that China has achieved the pinnacles of glory with its hard work, commitment and passion as innovation and research are the secrets of the magnificent growth of the Chinese nation, he added. 

The CM said Pakistan was lucky to have a great friend like China as the Chinese nation had taught us the lesson of hard work. He maintained the Pakistani nation should carry this lesson of hard work forward to the next generations because it was the only way of development and prosperity. The journey of Pakistan-China relations would continue to move forward with renewed zeal and vigour, concluded the CM. Provincial Minister Khayal Ahmad Kastro said the government was celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Pakistan-China friendship as both countries enjoyed long-standing cultural, diplomatic and economic relations. This friendship was unique and cultural activities were being held to mark the 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, he added.
