ISLAMABAD (Online) - On Pakistan Day, President Asif Ali Zardari conferred Nishan-e-Imtiaz on 17 members of the Parliament Committee for Constitutional Reforms for amendments and restoration of the constitution in its real essence. The award ceremony was held here at Presidents House on Wednesday. On recommendation of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, President Zardari conferred Nishan-e-Imtiaz on 17 members of PCCR, including Chairman Raza Rabbani, Waseem Sajjad, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Babar Awan, Naveed Qamar, Humayun Saif Ullah, Farooq Sattar, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Afrasiyab Khattak, Haji Muhammad Adeel, Rehmat Ullah Kakar, Israr Ullah Zuhry, Prof Khursheed Ahmad, Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi, Abdul Raheem Mandokhail and Muneer Khan Orakzai. Shehzad Taheem son of late Abdul Razaq Taheem received the award on behalf of his father. Large number of ministers, parliament members and foreign ambassadors attended the ceremony. It is pertinent to mention here that Parliament Committee comprised 27 members while ten members including Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Ahsan Iqbal, Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief JUI-F Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Senator Abdul Malik (National Party), Senator SM Zafar, Senator Shahid Hassan Bugti (Jamhoori Watan Party) and Senator Mir Haji Lashkerizai (PPP) refused to receive the awards from President Zardaris hands.
