Usman Buzdar says Punjab introducing cottage business to provide work and lodge facility | Buzdar, Roomi discuss industrialisation in South Punjab

LAHORE - President Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber of Commerce & Industry Kh Jalaluddin Roomi called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Tuesday as they discussed the promotion of the industrial sector in DG Khan and other parts of South Punjab. 

He also briefed the CM about the establishment of almonries in Koh-e-Suleman areas adjoining the province of Baluchistan. 

Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister disclosed to introduce the cottage business housing concept to provide the facility of work and lodge in the province. “This will accord self-employment, as well as the living facility, to the working women”, he added. 

Usman Buzdar said that Quaid-e-Azam Business Park was being developed as a model Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and the provision of necessary facilities, including electricity and water, will be completed soon as MoU has also been signed for the construction of interchange to approach the Motorway. 

The CM affirmed that an underground power supply and combine treatment plant will be installed in Quaid-e-Azam Business Park along with the establishment of the industrial zone in Muzaffargarh through a public-private partnership mode. 

He accentuated to fully utilize the industrial potential of South Punjab and assured to build industrial zones in Muzaffargarh and Bahawalpur on a fast-track basis. 

He said the government was striving to develop backward areas by promoting trade and industry as it will create more job opportunities. The Chief Minister reiterated that special attention has been paid to establish industries for developing undeveloped areas and assured to provide necessary facilities to the business community as it plays an important role in jobs’ generation. 

Usman Buzdar expressed the satisfaction that the scope of almonries was being expanded to far-flung areas to fulfill the vision of PM Imran Khan. The establishment of the facility of almonries is a step towards a welfare state and the cooperation of the business community is praiseworthy in this regard, he added. 

Jalaluddin Roomi reiterated that the business community sides with the government in its efforts for public welfare and assured to extend full cooperation to run almonries. Meanwhile, health and educational projects were being completed in Balochistan, Sindh, North Waziristan, South Punjab and free medicines were also provided in various Multan hospitals. Similarly, stipends were also being given to the needy students of South Punjab for professional education, he added.  Industries Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal, Secretary Industries, CEO PIEDMC and others were also present. 

CM to visit Sheikhupura, Hafizabad and Gujranwala today

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will visit Sheikhupura, Hafizabad and Gujranwala today (Wednesday) to inaugurate development projects and to lay the foundation stone of welfare schemes. He will also be briefed about the progress made on development schemes.

In this regard, the CM has affirmed that he will visit every city of the province as the PTI government is following the agenda of composite development. The development process is not limited to some specific cities as the public welfare agenda has been extended to neglected areas of the past. I will continue to serve the masses and parliamentarians are also consulted in the development process, he added.
