Chiniot to have 25 clinics

About 25 Population Welfare Clinics will be established across the district in next fiscal year. Tehsil Population Officer Mumtaz Hussain disclosed this while talking to media men the other day.
He said that 25 new population welfare clinics would be established in remote areas of district in next year while the existing 17 population centres had been converted into population welfare clinics which would provide medical treatment for general and maternity healthcare apart from providing contraceptive facilities.
He said that the Punjab government had been taking keen interest towards welfare of the general public and the NGOs and civil society representatives had also been involved in population planning activities.  He said that the Population Department was organising monthly session with Ulema/religious clerics to seek their help in creating awareness among masses.
Gang busted, two held: The City Police smashed a dacoit gang and arrested its two members besides recovering stolen motorcycle and cellphones from them.
Talking to the media, City DSP Asadur Rehman said that the Rajoa Police party conducted a raid near Rajoa village and arrested two dacoits identified as Sohail, a resident of Saghar Wala and Imran alias Poomi, a resident of Adlana village.
The police said that they had been involved in a number of highway robberies and dacoities including dacoity at Telenor cellphone company office; snatching cellphone, motorcycle and cash from Ayub Rajoka Advocate at Chiniot Jhang Highway. They also injured a teacher Asif Ali when he offered resistance during highway robbery at village Tahli Mangeeni, he added.
