LAHORE: Prominent journalists Mujeebur Rehman Shami, Hafeezullah Niazi and Sohaib Marghoob on Thursday visited the office of Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab.

Vice chairperson OPC Shaheen Khalid Butt welcomed them and told the Punjab chief minister personally monitored  the performance of the OPC. So far half of received complaints of Overseas Pakistanis had been resolved and a comprehensive policy was being followed to solve issues of Overseas Pakistanis.

Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Hafeezullah Niazi and Sohaib Marghoob while expressing their views said that establishment of the OPC was a welcome step to resolve problems of expatriate Pakistanis and this commission was striving hard for the timely settlement of issues of Overseas Pakistanis.

An accountability court on Thursday approved the plea bargain application of former president Canal Housing Society, Gujranwala, Yaqoob Lona, in a corruption case. The accused has showed his willingness to return Rs 9 million ill-gotten money to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
