Committee for determination of GB's constitutional status still in process of formation

ISLAMABAD: The proposed committee for determination of constitutional status of Gilgit-Baltistan is still in the process of formation and any headway can be made on this count following the constitution of this committee.

This was said by Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Qazi Khalil Ullah while talking to media men today.

He said that the proposed committee, led by the national security advisor Sartaj Aziz, has not been formed so far and it is in the phase of formation.

A private broadcasting company had sent questions to foreign office spokesman asking about the progress by proposed committee in connection with determination of the constitutional status of Gilgit and Baltistan.

Qazi Khalil Ullah informed about further progress in this regard.

It may be mentioned that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif had said in his address during his visit to Gilgit, Baltistan that a committee has been constituted under Sartaj Aziz to determine the constitutional status of Gilgit, Baltistan which will present its report after reviewing all the aspects.
