PESHAWAR - Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal has assured the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) that the federal government will fully include the recommendations and proposals of KPCCI in all projects to be started between Pakistan and Afghanistan projects.
Moreover, the minister said that Pakistan vision 2025 and 11th Five-Year plan 2013-18 meant to prepare a comprehensive road map with the consultation of all stakeholders and provinces for sustainable and long terms socio-economic development of Pakistan. And “The KPCCI proposals will be part of Pakistan vesion-2025,” he added.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal gave the assurance to the KPCCI delegation led by its President Zahidullah Shinwari met him in Peshawar.  Appreciating government’s Pakistan vision 2025 plan for strengthening economy, KPCCI President Zahid Shinwari said that the federal government was going in a right direction so far, urging the government to give maximum relief to business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The KPCCI president apprised the federal minister that PPP-led coalition government had waived off all kind of taxes, including income tax and mark for three years but now the PML-N government has again started collecting the same taxes.
He urged the federal government to give them relief in taxes as militancy-hit KPK has been passing through a critical phase. It would help trader and business community and certainly promote trade and business activities in the province if its traders were exempted from taxes for more years.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal assured the KPCCI delegation that his government would fully assist trade and business communities of KPK. He said that Pakistan was going to start $500 billion projects with Afghanistan, which included short and long term projects.
In this regard, he said that federal government would give too much preference to the recommendations and proposals of KPCCI in launching mega projects with Afghanistan.
