Anti riots unit set up in RWP to deal with dharnas

RAWALPINDI: Specialized Anti-riot unit has been launched in Rawalpindi to deal with sit-ins.

According to media reports, this unit has been set up by Punjab government which will comprise 500 personnel and foreign trainers will provide training to them.

The selection of anti-riot unit personnel has been started. The candidates having a height of 5 feet and 7 inches are being inducted in this unit. The maximum age limit of the candidates has been set 45 years.

This unit will function under CPO. Foreign trainers will impart training to the unit personnel to deal with demonstrations and dharnas. State of the art equipment will be provided to the staffers.
