LAHORE - A senior journalist of a private news channel was shot dead outside the Lahore Press Club (LPC) here on Monday. According to police, two unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened fire at the vehicle of Hasnain Shah near Shimla Pahari, LPC. Resultantly, he died on the spot. On information, police reached the spot and started investigations. Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Fayyaz Ahmad Dev took notice of the killing of the journalist and sought a report from the SSP Operations. The CCPO directed that the accused involved in the incident should be arrested as soon as possible. Furthermore, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar also sought a report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) about the murder of the journalist and ordered early arrest of the accused.
“The accused should be brought to the book, and justice should be provided to the family of the slain,” he said and extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family of the slain.
