MULTAN - A total of 1569 voters will cast their votes in four polling stations, established for Azad Kashmir elections in city, on Sunday (July 25). According to Election Commissioner source, for LA 42 Kashmir valley, three polling stations have been set up at Government Boys and Government Girls Schools Haram Gate. As many as 1482 voters will cast votes. Similarly, for one polling of LA Jammu, 87 persons will exercise their right to vote.
Meanwhile, District administration would start door-to-door campaign from July 26 to achieve provincial government’s target of vaccinating 40 percent population of above 18 years of age across the district till August 14.
This was said by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ali Shahzad here on Saturday. He said that health department had been directed to form 250 teams for vaccination campaign. He said that there was a population of 28,95000 citizens in the district of above 18 years of age out of which vaccination of 471,791 had already been vaccinated which was 16 percent of the population.
The Deputy Commissioner said that vaccination had been completed 33 percent at Multan city, nine percent Sadar, 10 percent Jalalpur Pirwala and nine percent of Shujabad. He said that a comprehensive campaign would be launched to vaccinate 686,000 citizens till August 14. Ali Shahzad maintained that 250 mobile teams would be formed for 125 union councils of the district while two vaccination camps would also be set up at each union council. He urged masses to get them vaccinated in order to protect themselves and others from the deadly virus.
The DC added that 12,878 citizens had been vaccinated during second and third day of Eid-ul-Azha. He said that vaccination campaign had been speed up to achieve the target.
Commissioner issues warning letter for non-submission of development schemes PC-1
Commissioner Javed Akhtar Mahmood took notice of non-submission of PC-1 of development schemes by subordinate divisional authority to his office in a stipulated time frame.
In a letter No. Dir (D&F)-204/2021 received from the Commissioner Office here on Saturday, Javed Akhtar Mahmood issued warning to Director Education Colleges, Director Special Education, CEO District Education Authority and CEO DHA Multan, Khanewal, Vehari and Lodhran for they had failed to submit PC-1 for “fast track implementation of annual development programme” to his office by July 15.
“This laxity has seriously been viewed by Multan Commissioner “ it was said.
It needs to be noted that the Chief Minister has set the time of July 31 for the approval of schemes from Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP), read the letter. Forgoing in view, the Commissioner has directed aforesaid authority to submit PC-1 of schemes related to their department today (24th July) without fail.
“Otherwise strict disciplinary action would be taken against the failing officials,” concluded letter.
DDWP approves 73 new uplift schemes
Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) approved 73 new uplift schemes across the division. The DDWP meeting led by Multan Commissioner Javed Akhtar Mahmood was held here on Saturday.
Mahmood stated that 144 new schemes of Multan division were included in Annual Development Program (ADP) 2021-22. He said that all uplift schemes would be sent back to Punjab government before July 31 after approval as 86 new uplift projects had been approved so far.
Commissioner directed the departments concerned to start advertisement and tendering process soon after approval of the schemes and ordered for submitting PC 1 of new schemes. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had given task for uplift of Multan division.
SSP Investigations distributes Rs 4m for investigation expenses
SSP Investigations Capt (retd) Muhammad Aamir Khan Niazi distributed cash of over Rs4 million among investigation officers for their expenses during investigation of cases here on Saturday.
As per directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Munir Masood Marth, the SSP Investigations distributed over Rs4 million among 57 investigation officers of the district for expenses of investigation of cases.
Speaking on the occasion, Aamir Khan Niazi said investigation expenses were being provided to officers timely in order to ensure early justice to masses. He said no officer would be allowed to delay investigation of cases otherwise strict action would be taken against him. He urged investigation officers to cooperate with masses and in complete investigation of cases on merit.
