ISLAMABAD - Former Interior Minister and senior Pakistan People’s Party leader Rehman Malik has demanded immediate action from the Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir amid rigging claims. “Political parties and candidates have expressed reservations over the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections. Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir must convene emergency meeting,” he said. Malik said if reservations were not removed, fingers will be pointed towards the Election Commission. “Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election Commission should clarify its position. They should tell what steps they have taken to make the election process transparent,” he said. Malik said the public should be informed about all the steps taken to prevent fraud. “Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir should convene a meeting with top leadership of all parties,” he said. The PPP leader said Election Commission should listen to the complaints of political parties and candidates contesting elections.
