ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Navy sailing camp at Gwadar concluded on Thursday.
The closing ceremony of the event was held at Gwadar Port. Commander West Rear Admiral Jawad Ahmed graced the ceremony as chief guest, according to a press release received here.
The week-long event was held from June 17-23 June wherein a total of 65 students from different local schools of Gwadar participated. The event was organized under the auspices of Pakistan Navy in collaboration with the government of Balochistan, Naval Anchorage Gwadar, Mir Abdul Ghafoor Kalmati Welfare Trust and Pearl Continental hotel Gwadar.
Commander West Rear Admiral Jawad Ahmed during his address to the closing ceremony highlighted the importance of water sports and the initiative of conducting sailing camp at Gwadar.
He termed the conduct of the sailing camp as the beginning of a new chapter for conduct of water sports events at Gwadar. Later, the chief guest distributed certificates and souvenirs among the participants of the camp.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of locals, said the press release.
