No rules for blue-eyed baboos postings

PESHAWAR - Contrary to tall claims of good governance, the NWFP government has paralysed the civil bureaucracy by posting blue-eyed PSP officers on lucrative positions that has divided the civil bureaucracy into two factions. The NWFP government violated defined rules and regulations as four officials belonging to Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) have been posted in the civil bureaucracy, clearly violating defined rules and regulations, sources informed TheNation. The sources informed those who were posted include Additional Secretary Home Department Fiaz Tooro, Deputy Secretary Home Department Quresh, IG Jail Khanajat Tanvir-ul-Haq Sapra, and Director Anti-Corruption Yameen Khan. The sources explained that the aforementioned PSP group officials were not suitable for civil bureaucracy, as they did not have the relevant experience required for civil bureaucracy. The sources added that there were several officers (OSD) belonging to DMG and PSP groups with relevant experience who were being ignored, including Ahmed Hanif, Amjad Afridi, Noor Ali Khan, and Gulam Qadir Khan. It is relevant to note here that three out of four PSP officers who have been posted in civil bureaucracy belong to Mardan, the hometown of the NWFP Chief Minister. Due to the violation of defined rules and regulations, unrest is being felt among the government servants and practices like hatching conspiracies and leg pulling have become a common practice among them.
