Attock-All the oil and gas companies working in Attock district have been directed to submit their last five-year audit report specially related to welfare funds. These directions were given by SAPM on Climate Change and Chairperson Social Welfare Committee Attock Malik Amin Aslam while chairing a meeting in this context. The meeting was attended by DC Attock Imran Hamid Sheikh, AC Jand and AC Pindigheb and the representatives of oil and gas companies. The chairman asked the reps of the companies to brief the participants about the welfare projects completed and projects in pipeline and to tell the participants how the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds are spent and jobs given to the locals. He also directed the reps to bring details about the jobs given to the locals and emphasised upon them that bring a complete data and not to try hiding anything. He also gave directions to the concerned to stop all the development projects which are in pipeline as these projects will be given green signal after their suitability and benefits for the locals. Malik Amin Aslam while addressing the participants said that CSR funds are the sole right of the people of Attock district and in future these funds will be utilised in a proper and transparent manner. He said most of these companies have been working in Attock district since decades but no prominent contribution seems from these companies for the welfare of the people but now this will not be allowed. He said that next meeting of the Social Welfare Committee will be held after two weeks. Oil and gas companies have been working in tehsils Jand, Pindi Gheb and Fatehjang since decades, polluting the environment, earning billions but giving nothing for the development of the area and prosperity of the people. This is the first time that these companies have been asked regarding their audit reports and details about the jobs given to locals.
