GUJRANWALA - One-Unity Group has cleaned sweep the elections for the Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Council's Associate Class as its 8 candidates overwhelmingly defeated their rivals of Founders and Unity Group. Election Commission Muhammad Hussain Al-Makky while announcing the results, declared One-Unity panel victorious. According to results, the group grabbed 192 panel votes as compared to 124 panel votes of the Founders-Unity Group. He announced that Salman Qadir Phularwan took 241 votes, Abdul Rauf Sheikh took 245 votes, Usman Nasir took 242 votes, Asim Ashfaq took 245 votes, Khurram Maqbool 246 votes, Sarfraz Ahmad Siddiqui 249 votes, Malik Amin Naz 239 votes and Imran Ullah took 234 votes and booked their respective slots for two years in the GCCI Executive Committee. On the other hand, Muhammad Azher Aslam grabbed 171 votes, Tariq Ayub Dar took 170 votes, Atif Iqbal took 165 votes, Malik Khurram Iqbal 163 votes, Haji Muhammad Saeed 158 votes, Ihsan Ullah 170 votes, Amjad Farooq 168 votes and Muhammad Shoaib took 171 votes.GCCI President Malik Zaheerul Haq, group leaders Ikhlaq Ahmad Butt and Haji Shakeel Ahmad thanked the voters for reposing their confidence in the group.Election for the seven seats of Associate class will be held on Tuesday (today) and both groups will renew their rivalry once again.
