PTI minister’s business partner shot dead in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD - A man was killed and four others injured in an armed attack in Sector I-9/4 of the capital here on Friday, informed sources.
It was a coordinated gun attack by unknown culprits targeting the two close aides/business partners of Punjab Minister for Food and Chief Executive Officer Park View Housing Society, Islamabad, they said.
All the attackers managed to escape from the scene in a white car.
A heavy contingent of police, led by SSP Operations Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer and SP Industrial Zone Fida Hussain Satti, rushed to the crime scene and shifted the dead body and injured to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The deceased has been identified as Mirza Navid while Malik Tahir and three guards: Nazakat, Rafaqat and Saeed Khan got injured, sources said.
According to sources, Malik Tahir and Mirza Navid, who are business partners of PTI stalwart Aleem Khan in Park View Housing Society, were heading towards their home in a Vigo being backed up by three armed guards travelling in another Vigo.
They said as the vehicles reached near Metro Bus Station of I-9, unknown assailants arrived in a car and opened indiscriminate firing on the guards. Meanwhile, the attackers also targeted the other vehicle killing Mirza Navid on the spot and injuring Malik Tahir. After committing the crime, the attackers fled from the scene, sources said.
A heavy contingent of police rushed to the crime scene and moved the dead body and injured to PIMS, they said. 
“It was a lethal armed attack,” said SP Industrial Zone Fida Ullah Satti while talking to media men. He said the reason behind the attack was yet to be known. He said it was suggested during initial investigation that a murder case be registered in PS Banigala. He said investigators of Homicide Investigation Unit along with forensic experts visited crime scene and collected evidence besides recording statements of eyewitnesses. “We have also obtained CCTV footage to identify the attackers. Bullet riddled vehicles and dead shells of bullets were also taken into custody by police investigators from the crime scene,” he said. He said several police teams have been constituted to arrest the fleeing culprits. Police are investigating the cases from all angles and will arrest the killers soon, said SP Fida Hussain Satti.
On the other hand, gunfire rocked the capital besides causing massive traffic jams on all major roads including Srinagar Highway, 9th Avenue and Islamabad Expressway. Long queues of vehicles could be seen on all roads. Islamabad Traffic Police officials, following the instructions of SSP Traffic Syed Karar Haider, were putting all-out efforts to control traffic mess.
