SC adjourns Babar Awan contempt hearing till May 10

The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of contempt of court case against former Federal Law Minister Babar Awan till May 10.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Athar Saeed and Justice Ijaz Afzal resumed hearing of the case on Thursday and Babar Awan’s counsel Ali Zafar Advocate pleaded the court not to frame contempt charge against his client as he wanted to file an appeal on some issues.
Justice Saeed remarked that the appeal could be filed even after the indictment; however, the court, granting Ali’s plea, did not charge-sheet him. The court directed Babar Awan’s counsel to file the appeal till May 10 and adjourned the hearing.
