Big cache of weapons seized, two smugglers held 

Bajaur - Police seized a big cache of weapons and ammunition during an action and arrested two suspects here in Bajaur tribal district, said the District Police Officer on Monday.

Taking to reporters, DPO Abdul Samad Khan said weapons and ammunition were recovered from a car in Mano Dehera area in Utman Khail tehsil on a tip-off based operation carried out by a police party. He said a police team was formed to start hunt for the said vehicle. The police party flagged down a car and during search recovered rifles and ammunition from the car. Two smugglers were also arrested in the action.

The DPO said that 70 long size guns (12 bore), nine short size guns (12 bore ), six repeater rifles (12 bore), one short medium gun (SMG), one 9mm pistol, 12 charger (12 bore), one SMG charger, 600 ammunition (30 bore), 180 ammunition (303 bore) and 150 ammunition (7.62 bore) were recovered.

He said the arrested persons identified as Fazal Subhan son of Fazal Rahman and Usman Ghani son of Fazal Mahboob belonged to Dando Shah village of Munda Town of Lower Dir district.
