rawalpindi - A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday acquitted a man in the murder case of a citizen.
The LHC Rawalpindi Bench Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Raja Shahid Mehmood Abbasi acquitted the accused Ali Asghar who was previously sentenced to death in the case by the additional and sessions judge Taxila, based on the absence of witnesses on the crime scene and fake recovery of the weapon. When the apex court took up murder case, the accused’s counsel argued that his client is innocent and had nothing to do with the murder case. He alleged that the police also made bogus recovery of weapon. After completion of arguments from both parties, the divisional bench of LHC acquitted the accused in the murder case and ordered his release. Earlier, Wah Cantt Police Station officials arrested Ali Asghar on charges of murdering Aslam over a property dispute.
