LAHORE - Sargodha-based spiritual leader Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi is all set to lead a rally in Lahore on January 4, four days after the end of his deadline to Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for showing the door to Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. In case his demand is not met till December31, he says the entire Punjab government will have to go.
Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has also given a deadline of December 30 to Punjab CM and law minister for resignations.
Recently emerged on country’s political scenario, the custodian of Sial Sharif shrine Khawaja Hameeduddin whose father was a veteran Muslim Leaguer and close ally of Quaid-e-Azam, is leading a movement against law minister on Khatm-e-Nabuwat issue. He claimed Rana Sana made remark in favour of Ahmedis.
Dr Qadri’s anticipated protest campaign is “to get justice on Model Town killings.”
Political observers say Punjab government will be facing a difficult situation at the start of the New Year.
“Our movement will be the last nail in the coffin of PML-N government,” said Dr Asharaf Asif Jalali, a close ally of Pir Sialvi and head of his own faction of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasoolallah. He claimed the PML-N government made attempt to change Khatme Nabuwat law and hence it did not have the right to rule over millions of Muslims of Pakistan.
“They [PML-N govt] will have to go now. Their days are numbered,” he claimed.
Pir Sialvi is leading a rally from Data Darbar to Punjab Assembly on January 4 and “will announce his next strategy on the occasion.”
He is set to lead a train march from Islamabad to Karachi on January 5 and next day he will address a public gathering in port city’s Nishtar Park. Pir Sial already organized two major public meetings in support of his claim and to warn Punjab CM in Faisalabad and Gujranwala on December 10 and December 25 respectively.
The PML-N members who met with Pir Sialvi to show him their loyalty on the issue of Khatme Nabuwat are: Sheikh Muhammad Akram from Jhang (NA-89), Ghulam Muhammad Lali from Jhang (NA-87), Chaudhry Hamid Hameed from Sargodha (NA-66), Ghulam Bibi Bharwana from Jhang (NA-88), Dr Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti from Sargodha (NA-67), Maulana Rehmatullah from Jhang (PP-74), Malik Waris Kallu from Khushab (PP- 42), Muhammad Khan from Jhang (PP-81), Sahibzada Ghulam Nizamuddin Sialvi from Sargodha (PP-37), Chaudhry Abdul Razzaq Dhillon from Sargodha (PP-33), Rana Munawar Ghous from Sargodha (PP-36), and Dr Nisar Jatt from Faisalabad (NA-81).
Three MPAs and two MNAs, Muhammad Khan from Jhang (PP-81), Sahibzada Ghulam Nizamuddin Sialvi from Sargodha (PP-37) and Maulana Rehmatullah from Jhang (PP-74) and MNAs Ghulam Bibi Bharwana from Jhang (NA-88) and Dr Nisar Jatt from Faisalabad (NA-81), have already tendered their resignations in support of Pir Sial call. Gujranwala PML-N chapter Ulema Wing president also resigned on Sunday.
Nephew of Pir Sialvi Sahibzada Ghulam Nizamuddin Sialvi, who has also resigned as MPA, claimed the Pir Sialvi shrine enjoyed support of millions of Muslims, custodians of different shrines and politicians. He said it was time for Punjab chief minister to accept the demand of Pir Sahib.
The main religious figures who back Pir Sialvi’s move are: JUP-Noorani President Sahibzada Abul Khair Zubair, custodian of Pakpattan shrine Dewan Masood, Sunni Ittehad Council head Hamid Raza, Sharaqpur Sharif head Mian Jalil Sharaqpuri, Sunni Tehreek head Dr Habibur Rehman and Tehreek Labbaik head Dr Asif Ashraf Jalali.
Several parliamentarians are also associated with his shrine because of the influence of Pir Sialvi over their voters in constituencies of Faisalabad, Chaniot, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, Khanewal and Vehari.
