Attock-45 water filtration plants have been installed at the cost of Rs60 million for the provision of hygienically clean drinking water to the residents of Attock, Hazro and Hasanabdal which will certainly control water borne diseases. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said this while addressing a gathering after inaugurating two water filtration plants in Mohala Mehrpura and E Block in Attock.
Malik Amin said this step has been taken because of increase in pathological pollution especially in tehsil Hazro and some areas of Attock resulting in spread of Cholera, Hepatitis, and Typhoid etc. While giving details of the water filtration plants, he said that five water filtration plants have been installed in Attock while rest of the plants have been installed in Faqeerabad, Haji Shah, Golra, Sarwala, Dher and Gondal of Attock tehsil. He said four water filtration plants have been installed in Hasanabdal City and one plant each in village Shahia and Hassar. Malik Amin while talking about Hazro tehsil said that three plants have been installed in Hazro City and one plant each in Mararia, Mula Mansoor, Formali, Haidra, Tajak, Waisa, Kamalpur Musa, Haroon, Hameed, Yaseen, Malhoo, Khagwani, Kalu Kalan, Kalu Khurd, Mararia, Behboodi, Ghourghushti , Shinka, Qutb Bandi and Jalalia. SAPM Amin Aslam said that four drainage schemes and three water supply schemes for village Qibla Bandi, Mula Mansoor and Haji Shah are being completed. Malik Amin said other problems of the area will be resolved soon. He said that soon Rs10 million each will be released for every union council of NA 55 Attock for different development schemes.
