KASUR - A 14-year-old boy was allegedly abused by four suspects at Bhasarpura here the other day.
According to B-Division police, the boy was at home when his two friends - Khurram Sharif and Ahmed lured him to their haveli where two unidentified suspects were also present. They allegedly abused him and fled leaving him unconscious at haveli. The police registered a case against the accused and launched investigation.
Meanwhile, a 13-year-old boy was thrashed in police custody. Munir, 13, son of Iqbal was arrested in a theft case no. 53/18 u/s 379 ppc registered at A-Division police station. He was accused of stealing Rs200,000 of complainant Saeed Ahmed. His mother on the advice of lawyers produced the boy in court. Local magistrate Sidra Aneeq ordered medical examination of the boy from Okara DHQ Hospital.
According to the medico-legal certificate issued by the standing medical board, there were multiple bruises on his body. The torture had also caused swelling of various body parts.
DEATH SENTENCE
A local court sentenced a murderer to death and fined him Rs200,000 on Wednesday. The convict was identified as Ashiq, son of Bashir Rehmani. Renala Khurd Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Imran Afzal Gill announced the verdict. The ADSJ acquitted another accused Atta Muhammad due to lack of evidence.
In Toba Tek Singh, a youth was abducted by unidentified persons while a man died in a road accident at Gojra here the other day.
Ashiq Hussain submitted a complaint to Gojra City police that his brother-in-law Ghulam Dastagir, resident of Chimni Shah locality worked at the franchise of a telecommunication company (Telenor). On Tuesday, he left for work as usual but die not return till Wednesday morning. "His mobile phone was found switched off and he might have been kidnapped," Ashiq Hussain expressed concerns. Police launched investigation.
On the other hand, a man died in a road accident at Gojra. According to police, the deceased identified Aftab, 25, resident of Chak 666/1 GB Pirmahal, was on the way to Faisalabad on a motorcycle. As he reached Gojra-Painsara Road near Chak 282/JB, a van coming from opposite direction hit the bike. As a result, he died on the spot. Gojra Saddr police impounded the van and registered a case against van driver Ashfaq, resident of Jaranwala who managed to flee away.
