PESHAWAR - To monitor the investigation being done in the brutal murder of four-year-old Asma, Senator Nasreen Jalil, Senator Shahi Syed and Senator Nisar Khan on Thursday paid a visit to Asma’s house in Mardan.
The senators expressed sympathy with the family members of Asma and assured their full support to bring the criminal into the court of justice.
Asma was allegedly raped and killed by an unidentified person a few days back. He went missing on January 13 from outside her house and her body found from sugarcane field after a day.
The police have constituted a joint investigation team who is probing the case from different angles.
Speaking on this occasion, Senator Nasreen Jalil and Senator Shahi Syed said that Asma was the daughter of the entire nation, adding that we all were equally pained by all such acts of tyranny and barbarity.
They asked the father of slain Asma about the progress into the case and asked him whether he was satisfied or otherwise.
The father of Asma responded with satisfaction and added that they were investigating the case very vigorously. They also asked deputy commissioner and DIG Mardan whether they also needed any kind of help in this regard.
The officers told the senators that the government should establish a DNA laboratory which was not available in the province before.
The deputy commissioner Mardan said easy access to pornographic materials has destroyed the young generation.
The district administration has had an extensive drive against pornographic materials in Mardan and wiped out the stuff to a great extent, however, that was not enough as the matter it is easily accessible on the internet for which the federal government needs to take action.
Senator Shahi Syed, in a reply, said that he would raise the issue in the forthcoming meeting of the senate.
