Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi state that there is no reason or room to keep Pakistan in the grey list when it has implemented 26 out of the 27 action plans of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
On Saturday, the FM said that it needs to be determined whether FATF is a technical forum or a political one. He said it also needs to be looked into whether the forum is being used for political purposes.
Moreover, he also added that some powers want the fear of FATF to hang over Pakistan and FATF itself accepted that Pakistan has implemented 26 of the actions plans and noticeable progress has been made on the 27th one as well.
Lastly, Shah Mahmood Qureshi made it clear that whatever steps Pakistan took were in its own interests. He said it is in our interest to stop money laundering and terror financing as it will be beneficial for the country's future.
