KB Club win 3rd Inverex Basketball trophy

LAHORE - Karachi Basketball Club won title of the 3rd Inverex Pakistan Day Basketball Tournament after beating Mamba Squad Basketball Club by 38-36 in the final played at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court Aram Bagh, Karachi.
Raj Kumar Lakhwani and Zain Tanwar of Fateh Club with 9 each baskets and Asad Imam with 6 baskets emerged as prominent ones from the winning team while from the runner-up team, Muhammad Taha (14), Kenneth Johnson (11) and Saad Khan (6) played well. At the prize distribution ceremony, Additional Deputy Commissioner South Tabriz Sadiq Murree gave away trophies and prizes to the winners, runners-up and top performers.
Other notables present on the occasion were KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, AC Aram Bagh Amar Jaja, Mukhtiar Kar Abu Bakar, Muhammad Arshad, M Saleem Khamisani, Fauzia Falak, Benazir Baloch, Shagufta Fayyaz, Dr MH Siddiqui, Samaa Asif, Usman Ghani and others. He announced that after Eid-ul-Fitr, Deputy Commissioner South Basketball Tournament will be held on the same court.
Tabriz Murree said that Karachi is a city of sports and it has immense talent in every sports but there is a dire need to hunt that talent and train and facilitate them well so that they may earn laurels for Pakistan globally. Paying tribute to Inverex and KBBA for organizing a spectacular basketball event on the occasion of Pakistan Resolution Day, he assured the players that the sports and the patronage of players will be continued by the administration of Southern District.
