CM orders early completion of uplift projects

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has ordered early completion of the projects of provision of better facilities to the tourists and residents of Murree. He further directed that construction and repair of roads, prevention of landslides, construction of parking plazas, installation of new chairlift and construction work on other development projects should also be accelerated as weather conditions are favourable. He stated this while presiding over a meeting at Government House Murree, on Tuesday. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Member Provincial Assembly Raja Fayyaz Sarwar, Secretary Health Fawad Hassan Fawad, Secretary Forests Babar Hassan Bharwana and District Coordination Officer Rawalpindi Amdad Ullah Bosaal were also present on the occasion. The CM said that keeping in view the increasing number of visitors to Murree, several projects had been initiated for enhancing tourist facilities and construction work on parking plaza in Jheeka Gali had been started. Similarly, construction of second parking plaza on Misyari Road would be started after cost estimate. He directed that relevant laws should be strictly enforced for removal of encroachments and environmental protection, and conservation of forests should also be ensured. The meeting was informed that construction of many roads in Murree had been completed as a result of which better means of communication would be available to the tourists visiting Murree from different parts of the country in summer season. The meeting was further informed that work was being speedily underway for the improvement of parks in Murree and different kinds of colourful flowers had been planted on the roadsides, which were enhancing beauty of Murree. The CM directed that pace of implementation of hospital project in Murree should be accelerated. DCO Rawalpindi briefed the participants of the meeting about the details of various ongoing projects in Murree.
