Anti-polio drive starts in Bajaur

BAJAUR AGENCY  - Three days anti-polio campaign will start today (Monday) in Bajaur Agency and 227,300 children would be vaccinated against the disease.
Talking to media persons during a press briefing here on Sunday, Dr Zakir Hussain said that health department and local political administration have finalised arrangements for the drive. He said that 227,300 children will be administered polio drops.
The health official said that 1,590 health workers and supporting staff would take part in the drive. He said the administration and the security forces have made foolproof security arrangements for the health workers to avoid any unpleasant incident during the drive. He added that Levies personnel, security officials of Bajaur Scouts and volunteers of village defence committees will be deployed with every polio team.
