Top LeJ leader among four killed in police encounter

Lahore: Haroon Bhatti, the founder of banned Lashkr e Jhangvi (LeJ) and three other suspected terrorists were killed in an alleged police encounter in the Badami Bagh area of Lahore today.

Bhatti, who was brought to Pakistan through Interpol from Dubai, was being escorted by the police to hideout in the Malik Park area, when his alleged accomplices opened fire on the police van and an encounter took place. As a result, Bhatti, Umair, Umar and Nouman were killed on the spot, while three police personnel also sustained bullet injuries. The injured were shifted to local hospital for treatment.
