LAHORE The provincial government has extended the detention period of Malik Ishaq, leader and founder of the banned outfit Lashkar-e- Jhangvi (LeJ), for another two months, it was learnt on Tuesday. Sources in the Punjab Home Department said that the government has also extended the detention period of his close aide, Ghulam Rasool Shah, for another 60 days. Malik Ishaq has been kept in a jail in Rahim Yar Khan since September 25th, under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Act. The Punjabs Home Department has issued the orders in this regard. According to the official sources, with effect from October 25th, the detention period has been extended for Malik and Shah. Malik Ishaq, was released on bail from Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore on July 14th this year. He was acquitted in the case of attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team by the Supreme Court and later released from the jail.
