‘Thousands of jobless to march on Islamabad on October 31’

LAHORE  -  Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Amirul Azeem has said the government should go home if it is unable to provide relief to the inflation-hit masses. Addressing a press conference along with JI Information Secretary Qaisar Sharif at Lahore Press Club on Monday, he said that the JI had decided to take thousands of unemployed youth to Islamabad on October 31 to hold a historic protest demonstration against the anti-people policies of the incompetent rulers.

“Thousands of jobless youth will demand jobs from the government and remind the prime minister of his claim to provide 10 million jobs,” he said, adding that the prime minister rather made millions jobless after coming into power.

“This government,” he said, “lacked vision to fix the economy which is virtually being controlled by the IMF.” He said that the unemployment and inflation were the results of the IMF-led policies. “The interest-based economy and capitalism are the roots of all the evils humanity has been facing for decades,” he stated.

“The people of Pakistan,” he said, “should take a stand against injustice and cruelty and be a part of the JI struggle to get rid of the status quo.” He said that the prime minister failed to transform the country into a Madina like state. “I appeal to the people of Pakistan to reject the status quo and be part of the JI to put the country on track.” He said that the PTI had brought the economy to the verge of collapse due to its flawed policies. “The government,” said Azeem, “only facilitated mafias in three years and they made billions of rupees by creating sugar, flour, medicines and other fake crises.” He said that the mafias were working as team members of the prime minister who had failed to take action against them despite tall claims.
