Aram Bagh Club wins Defence Day Basketball opener

LAHORE-Aram Bagh Club defeated Civil Tigers Club by 42-36 in the opening match of the Defence Day Cup Basketball Tournament being organized by Karachi Basketball Association at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court Karachi.
For Aram Bagh Club, Hasan Ali scored 14, Obaid Hafeez 14 and Hasan Khawaja 12 points while Muhammad Moaz scored 11, Daniyal Khan 10 and Haris Shahid 9 points for Civil Tigers Club. Zafar Iqbal, Ashraf Yahya and Zainul Abdin acted as referees while Zaima Khatun, Naeem Ahmed, Mumtaz Ahmed and Raj Kumar performed the duties of technical officials.
The tournament was inaugurated by Col Ali Ahmad Khan, Wing Commander of Pakistan Rangers Abdullah Shah Ghazi Sector, during a colorful opening ceremony, which was also attended by Shahida Parveen Kayani, Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Ahmed Ali Rajput, Asghar Baloch, Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate, Muhammad Yaqub, Saleem Khamisani, Kaleem Awan, Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, Muhammad Asif, Abdul Hameed, Muhammad Junaid, Khalid Shamsi, Jameel Hout and other distinguished guests. 
Earlier, Shehla Ghori, the organizer of Pakistan Girls Guide Kemari, welcomed the guest of honor. Shahida Parveen Kayani gave a commemorative shield to the guest of honor on behalf of Commissioner Karachi and Usman Khan, a student of BVS School, presented a bouquet to the chief guest.
