Bullet-proof wall to be built around US Consulate

PESHAWAR (Online) - Construction work at the US consulate, damaged in a recent bomb blast, has got underway while a concrete and bullet-proof boundary wall is being constructed around the premises. A four-member team of US investigators had arrived in the provincial capital of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa after the blast to join the Pakistani officials probing terrorist attack on the US consulate that claimed the lives of three security guards. Soon after travelling from Islamabad to Peshawar, the US experts visited the crime scene and collected ground evidence. At least six people, including four attackers, were killed when heavily armed militants in two vehicles tried to storm the US consulate there. On the other hand, no outsider is allowed to visit the premises during construction work while in the second phase, the internal portion of the consulate will be refurbished.
