ISLAMABAD - Pakistan top player Aqeel Khan and ladies champion Ushna Suhail (Wapda) lifted the men’s and ladies’ singles titles in the Serena Hotels National Ranking Tennis Championships 2021 that concluded at the PTF Complex, Islamabad. 
In the men’s singles final, Aqeel Khan played well against emerging tennis star Muhammad Shoaib and won the final with the score being 6-2, 7-5. Aqeel started well against the youngster and comfortably won the first set 6-2. But after that, Shoaib made his presence felt and gave tough time to Aqeel, who took the hard-fought set 7-5 to win the title. 
Ushna Suhail continued her good show in the ladies singles final and outclassed the former No 1 Sarah Mahboob Khan 6-0, 6-1. Ushna never allowed her opponent to settle down and took the first set without conceding a single point. Ushna stamped her authority in the second set as well and also won it comfortably by 6-1, thus claimed the title. 
Soon after her victory, the tennis gurus and enthusiasts said that Ushna Suhail gave WTA level performance against Sarah and she is bound to further excel. In the boys U-18
singles final, Hasheesh Kumar had to struggle hard to overcome spirited Abdullah Adnan 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to lift the title. 
Hussain Odhwani graced the prize distribution ceremony as chief guest and Iftikhar Rashid SEVP-PTF as guest of honour. Iftikhar Rashid, while addressing the participants, congratulated the winners and runners-up and also all the players who participated in these events. He thanked the coaches and parents. 
Iftikhar also presented a brief resume of the achievements of Salim Saifullah Khan President PTF, not only up-gradation of the PTF Infrastructure, development of players by establishing NTC and coaches’ education program.
