Time has come to correct all ‘wrongs’: Zardari

ISLAMABAD  - Former president Asif Ali Zardari Monday said the time had come to correct all the wrongs by dictators.

Addressing the Pakistan People’s Party workers from Gujar Khan at his residence here, Zardari said change in the society would come by following the philosophy of the PPP founder, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The former president said the PPP always cherished its workers and the party had appointed a son of Gujar Khan, – Raja Pervez Ashraf – as the prime minister of Pakistan in 2012.

He said that workers should be ready to take more responsibilities. Zardari paid tributes to Benazir Bhutto and said she struggled all her life for a fair Pakistan whereas narrow-minded people always opposed her.

He said the youth would prosper when they had opportunities of employment and peace would come when the education institutes would teach the lesson of humanity.  Zardari said the PPP did not believe in revenge and leaves a matter to God.

“[Former prime minister] Nawaz Sharif is reaping what he sowed for decades. Nawaz Sharif had made life impossible for the poor and [the] downtrodden,” he added.

The former president said the PPP had offered a young and able leadership to the country.  “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari recently demonstrated his leadership qualities in front of the world and pleaded Pakistan’s case successfully in front of the West,” he maintained.

Former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, PPP Secretary-General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Senator Farhatullah Babar, Sardar Salim Haider and Raja Khurram Pervez were also present on the occasion.
