Gilani's win in Senate may ends PTI govt: Rana Sanaullah

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Rana Sanaullah has said that PTI’s assembly members have contacted PML-N and former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani for tickets. If the former PM wins a seat in the Senate, it would give tough time to PTI government.

Talking in a programme, the PML-N leader said that Senate election adjustment in Punjab was not the result of any negotiation or settlement, only the covering candidates withdrew their nominations.

“Unlike Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, votes have never been sold off in Punjab. No one in Punjab considered it appropriate to take a risk, otherwise, there would have been competition”, he added.

The former provincial law minister claimed that some PTI members have directly demanded a ticket in return for their vote for Yousaf Raza Gilani. They also told Gilani that if they were assured a ticket, they would be ready to discuss further.

Rana Sanaullah said that our priority should be fresh and fair midterm elections, and the new mandate should be accepted by all.
