11TH Cholistan Jeep Rally 2016 from February 14

Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab announced, the schedule of 11th Cholistan Jeep Rally which will be held on 12-14th Feb, 2016 at Derawar Fort Cholistan, in a press briefing addressed by Rana Mashhood, Minister for Tourism.

TDCP started the Cholistan Jeep Rally event in the majestic desert of Cholistan during the year 2005 with a view to promote Southern Punjab as a winter tourist destination and promote motor sports in Pakistan.

The main objective of the rally is to promote Cholistan`s culture and historical heritage to endorse. Highlighting the Southern Punjab and its desert for the promotion of tourism as well as international tourism in the area. Provide economic opportunities for the locals and a forum for inter-provinicial harmony among the people. To intensify the passion for motor sport.

TDCP decided to hold 11th Cholistan Jeep Rally over the distance of 225 KM from Derawar Fort to inner parts of Cholistan from 12-14th Feb, 2016 in which more than 300,00 people expected to visit and witness the rally.

More than 100 professional drivers challenge the sand of the Cholistan in four different categories of race. First time, TDCP introduce a separate category for female drivers for the 11th Cholistan Jeep Rally.

A cultural night, folk colurs, fireworks, camel dance and tourist camp site is also the feature of this Jeep Rally. Rana Mashhood (Minister for Tourism), Imran Goraya (Vice Chairman TDCP), Hamayun Mazhar (Secretary for Tourism), Mr. Ahmer Mallick (Managing Director TDCP), General Managers TDCP, Sponsors and people from different walk of life attend the briefing.

The different departments, Pakistan Army, Punjab Ranger, Punjab Police, City District Govt. BWP, Cholistan Development Authority, Houbara Foundation, sponsors and local community provide full corporation/coordination to make TDCP Cholistan Jeep Rally a success.
