4 schools under smart lockdown in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD - The district administration imposed a smart lockdown in six different areas of the city including four schools to control coronavirus pandemic.

A spokesperson for the district administration said here on Tuesday that Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali, on a report of District Health Authority, ordered to impose smart lockdown in Amin Town and Chak 191 as corona patients were reported in these areas. The district administration imposed smart lockdown in four schools of the district as 14 students including 11 boys and 3 girls were tested positive for the coronavirus. The schools included Government High School Tehsil Jaranwala, Government High School No. 2 Tehsil Samundari, Government Higher Secondary School Chak 202 RB Gatti and Government MC Higher Secondary School Allama Iqbal Road. He said that the process of random sampling of students in these schools was also underway. Meanwhile, AC Saddar visited chak 191 RB and checked the implementation on smart lockdown in the village.

30 brick-kilns sealed

AC Jaranwala, Zain ul Abideen has sealed 30 brick-kilns over running without zigzag technology. A spokesman for the local administration said on Tuesday that AC Jaranwala, along with his team, checked 86 kilns in tehsil Jaranwala and found 30 kilns in functional condition without zigzag technology and emitting excessive smoke direct into the air. Therefore, the AC sealed these kiln houses and demolished their construction. The AC had also issued warning to owners of another 57 brick-kilns to shift to the environment-friendly zigzag technology otherwise their construction would be demolished besides registering cases against them.

 

 

 Meanwhile, the AC constituted seven teams for inspection of kilns in the tehsil.

Govt to provide all amenities to people: MNA

Member of National Assembly (MNA) Raja Riaz Ahmed has said that all basic amenities will be provided to people at their doorsteps. He was talking to the media during a visit to various areas of constituency NA-110 here on Tuesday. Divisional Commissioner Saqib Manan and other officers accompanied him.

Raja Riaz said that regional development and speedy resolution of people’s problems was top priority of the government. He said that all necessary steps were being taken so that basic facilities could be provided to the people at their doorsteps. He said that sewerage, water supply and other projects were being completed expeditiously. The commissioner promised that all issues confronted by people of the area would be resolved on priority basis. He said that available funds were being utilised in a fair and transparent manner to ensure balanced development of the district. They visited various areas of the constituency including Sidhupura and Rasheed Abad and viewed the arrangement made for sanitation and cleanliness.

 

90 percent digitization of FDA City record completed

The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has completed 90% digitization work of FDA City record to facilitate its allottees and security their properties.

This was stated by Director General FDA Muhammad Sohail Khwaja while chairing a meeting on Tuesday. He said that the FDA had initiated a project of digitization of property record of FDA control residential colonies and commercial markets. In this regard, digitization of FDA City was started and this task had been completed up to 90 percent so far. He said that modern information technology was being used to improve performance of FDA in addition to make its affairs more transparent. He said that digitization of records would help in eliminating possibility of all types of errors and mistakes which occurred in manual working.

The project would also help in protecting property records scientifically by storing all the data and necessary information including biometrics and photographs of the plot owners. Therefore, the allottees and property dealers should cooperate with FDA for completion of this project as early as possible, he added. He further said that in view of difficulties of the defaulters of FDA City who could not pay their dues for any reason, the date of payment of arrears had been extended till January 31, 2021. However, the arrears would be collected with a penalty of Rs.1,000 per marla by February 15, 2021 and it had also been decided to cancel the allotment of plots of the defaulters after February 15. Therefore, those defaulters who had not yet paid their dues should make immediate payment without waiting for last date, he added.

74 held, drugs weapons seized

Police on Tuesday arrested 84 criminals and recovered drugs and illegal weapons from their possession in the district during the last 24 hours.

According to police,the teams conducted raids at various areas and nabbed a proclaimed offender and 11 drug pushers and recovered 1.9kg hashish and 71 litres liquor from their possession. The team held 28 gambles with stake money of Rs 6,310. In a crackdown against illegal weapons, police arrested 5 persons and recovered 5 pistols from them during the same period. Meanwhile, the police held 29 kite sellers and seized 4,125 kites and 471 string rolls from them. Further investigation was underway.
