Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that it needs to create a Joint Working Group between the Commerce Ministries of Pakistan and Azerbaijan to focus and prepare an action plan for increasing bilateral trade between the two countries.

Talking to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday, he highlighted the need for further expanding the excellent relationship between the two brotherly countries to a broader array including education, health, and climate change.

According to a message received here from Baku, Azerbaijan, Asadi Qaiser congratulated the President and the people of Azerbaijan on the resounding victory in the 44-day Patriotic War.

He thanked the President for receiving him and conveyed the greetings and good wishes of President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The Speaker also thanked the President for extending continued support on the issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. He briefed the President on the continued human rights violation in IIOJ&K.

Earlier, the Azerbaijan President received the Pakistani Parliamentary delegation led by Speaker Asad Qaiser at the Presidential Palace.

President Ilham stressed that Azerbaijan has always stood by Pakistan on its just and legitimate stance regarding the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and assured that Azerbaijan will continue to extend its support at all international fora with regard to Jammu and Kashmir.

Welcoming the Speaker, President Ilham hoped that the First Trilateral Conference of the Speakers will contribute towards strengthening the relations among the three brotherly countries. The Speaker extended an invitation to the President of Azerbaijan to visit Pakistan and address the National Assembly of Pakistan.

President expressed his desire to visit Pakistan after the improvement in the pandemic situation. He positively reciprocated the proposals by the Speaker to intensify cooperation in commerce and trade, education, health, and climate change. President also proposed cooperation between the ecological
organizations of the two countries.
