ISLAMABAD - Pakistan strongly reacted strongly over the Financial Action Task Force decision to keep it in the grey list and said there was no justification to keep Pakistan in the grey list. “As far as technical aspects are concerned Pakistan has implemented 26 out of 27 points of FATF and this fact has been recognised by FATF itself,” Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said in a statement issued here. “There is also a significant progress on the 27th point as well and Pakistan intends to do more implementation on this point”, Qureshi said. He raised the question of whether FATF is being used as a political forum instead of a technical forum on financial matters. “In my view there is no justification for FATF to keep any more in the grey list”, the foreign minister commented. He said certain powers want that sword of grey list to keep on hanging on Pakistan. Qureshi said whatever actions Pakistan has taken for the implementation of the FATF conditions that has been in its own interest. “Our interest is that there should be no money laundering”, he made it clear.
