Mardan-Deputy Commissioner Habibullah Arif on Friday said that more than 388,169 children would be administered anti-polio drops across the district during the five-day anti-polio campaign in strict security.
Briefing the media about the upcoming anti-polio campaign, the Deputy Commissioner said that polio is a contagious disease and the district administration, health department and other departments will try their best to eradicate the disease.
He said that the current 5-day anti-polio campaign would start from March 29 in which a total of 388,169 children up to the age of 5 years would be vaccinated against polio for which 1,524 mobiles, 93 fixed, 50 transit, 8 roaming, and 702 supervisory teams have been formed for the protection of which 2,224 police cops with QRF police will be deployed.
He added that these polio teams will go door to door during the anti-polio campaign to vaccinate children up to 5 years of age.
Deputy Commissioner said that during the polio campaign, the services of scholars, media representatives, teachers of public and private schools, patwaris, brainwashers of the area would be sought so that no child could be deprived of polio drops and refuse.
He further said that due to security concerns during the campaign, pillion riding, vehicles with tinted glasses and display of weapons have been banned under section 144 during the campaign to avoid any untoward incident.
He appealed to the parents, scholars and people of all schools of thought to support the anti-polio campaign so that the campaign can be successful and the future of our children can give saved from the dangerous virus.
