RAWALPINDI - A team of officials of Police Station (PS) Anti Corruption Rawalpindi had arrested a land revenue officer on charges of helping some fraudsters in preparing a bogus power of attorney and altering the record of revenue department to get transferred a precious land in the name of fraudsters, informed sources on Wednesday. The detained was identified as land revenue officer (Patwari) Mouza Tench Bhatta Tariq, they said. A case has also been registered against the accused and his accomplices, they said. According to sources, a citizen namely Chaudhry Gulraiz Akhter lodged complaint with Director Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) Rawalpindi Region stating he is residing in the house which was allotted to his forefathers before separation of Sub-Continent in Dheri Hassanabad, Mouza Tench Bhatta. He said Azhar Khan prepared a power of attorney number 1852 page number 253 dated 26-8-2015 to transfer registry number 1109 page number 477 dated 7/10/1924 in his name. He informed that the aforementioned registry was entered in record of land revenue since 7/10/1924 and there was no Khasra number mentioned in the record. “While according to the register of 1924, the piece of land has been included in population area,” he said. He requested the Director to register case against the officers of land revenue department and others. Taking action, Director forwarded the complaint to SHO PS Anti Corruption Department ordering him to arrest the accused, sources said. Police arrested Tariq patwari while raids are being carried out to round up Munshi Waqas and others, they said.
