Womens rights stressed

Our Staff Reporter BAHAWALPUR - Managing Director and Programme Manager, Cholistan Development Council, Farooq Ahmed Khan and Mst Razia Malik have underlined the need for the protection of womens rights in line with the teachings of Islam which has given equal rights to the man and women. We have to follow these rules to provide women equal rights and respect in the society for national progress. They were talking to the media people at a function held in connection with Universal Day for Elimination of Violence against the women here on Saturday. They were of the view that the day reminded the moral, religious and social obligations and make the public take seriously the healthy traditions for the welfare and prosperity of society. They informed that the CDCP, Bahawalpur was striving hard for the rights of the women since 1996 and had succeeded in the mission so far in developing awareness about the rights and status of the women in society, adding that healthy changes had been seen in various circles of the area. They urged the people to give due rights and respect to the women for better prospects.
