IG Islamabad directs SP Saddar to arrest robbers who burgled Senator’s house

ISLAMABAD - Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman ordered SP Saddar Zone Nowsherwan Ali Chandio to expedite the efforts to trace out a gang of robbers involved in burgling house of PML-N Senator Nuzhat Sadiq in F-10/1, informed sources on Friday.
The capital police chief also warned SP of strict departmental action in case of failure in netting the robbers gang besides expressing his dismay over a dangerous surge in street crime in Saddar Zone, they said. “Even IG snubbed the subordinates including SP and made them not to go home without devising a comprehensive plan to arrest the robbers gang,” they said.
Following the directions of IG, SSP Investigation Islamabad Atta Ur Rehman held a meeting with SP Saddar Zone Nowsherwan Ali Chandio in his office that continued till late night, sources said.
IG Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman, when contacted by The Nation, confirmed that he had ordered SP Saddar Zone Nowsherwan Ali Chandio to speed up process to net the gang of robbers involved in a series of house robberies including burgling house of a politician.
He said police are making all out efforts to arrest the fleeing robbers.
A gang of robbers stormed into house of PML-N Senator Nuzhat Sadiq and made the entire family members hostage on gunpoint. The robbers looted cash and valuables worth over Rs4.7 million from the house.
