Lankan experts visits hospital

LAHORE Sri Lankan medical experts led by Dr Hasitha Tissera visited Social Security Hospital Manga Mandi. Chief Executive Officer Gen Retd Asghar Ali Chaudhry and MS Dr Zhem Anwar briefed the team about medical facilities being provided labourers. Secretary Labour Ahsan Iqbal informed that the hospital has been allocated for dengue fever patients and presently 40 to 45 are under treatment. Sri Lankan experts Dr Kolitha Sellahewa and Dr Hasitha Tissera told that out of 10000 infected patients, only 25 get dengue haemorrhagic fever. He said that the correct and timely diagnosis of dengue was of vital importance and without verification serving of excessive fluid to patients was dangerous. The experts briefed doctors and nurses regarding diagnosis and treatment of dengue patients. Provincial Minister, Abdul Ghafoor especially visited the hospital and held a meeting with Sri Lankan experts and hospital administration. The Minister accompanied by Secretary Health Punjab and Sri Lankan team also inspected indoor and outdoor labs, ICU and other wards of the hospital and talked to the patients.
