At least ten bogies of Khushhal Khan Khattak Express from Karachi to Peshawar have derailed near Sehwa.
Peshawar-bound Khushhal Khan Khattak Express was on its way to Peshawar from Karachi when it met with an accident. Police, rescue teams and Pakistan Railways officials reached the spot after the mishap.
Rescue sources said that two people were wounded in the incident and were shifted to hospital. Rescue sources informed that darkness and difficult terrain hampered rescue operation.
It is for the second time when Khushhal Khan Khattak express met an accident within the last ten days.
Earlier, on Sep 16, eight bogies of this train had become out of order near Musan and Sohan when it was on its way from Karachi to Mianwali; to Attock and Peshawar as a result 20 people got injured.
Railway Officials said that the recent incident didn’t affect railway track from Karachi to Lahore.
According to Senior General Manager Railway Aaftab Akbar, 10 out of 13 bogies of Khushhal Khan Khattak have derailed after which three relief trains were sent to the place of incident.
However, he said, no loss of life has been reported during the accident while orders have been issued for carrying out investigation in the incident.
