Canadian HC pays farewell call on Gen Bajwa

RAWALPINDI    -   Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that assistance from Pa­kistan’s global partners will be vital in rehabilita­tion of the flood victims.

According to a state­ment issued by the ISPR Directorate here yesterday, the Army Chief expressed these views while talking to Canadian High Com­missioner to Pakistan Ms Wendy Gilmour, who paid a farewell call on him at the GHQ here. During the meet­ing, matters of mutual interests, regional securi­ty situation and bilateral co­operation in various fields came under discussion, the statement said. The COAS thanked the visiting digni­tary for her services and appreciated her contribu­tions for fostering strong ties between the two coun­tries. The High Commis­sioner expressed her grief over the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan and of­fered sincere condolence to the families of the victims. She offered full support of her country to the people of Pakistan. She also appreci­ated Pakistan’s Army efforts for rescue and relief efforts in the flood affected areas. The Army Chief thanked for Canada’s support and reit­erated that assistance from Pakistan’s global partners shall be vital in rehabilita­tion of the flood victims.
