RAWALPINDI - Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that assistance from Pakistan’s global partners will be vital in rehabilitation of the flood victims.
According to a statement issued by the ISPR Directorate here yesterday, the Army Chief expressed these views while talking to Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ms Wendy Gilmour, who paid a farewell call on him at the GHQ here. During the meeting, matters of mutual interests, regional security situation and bilateral cooperation in various fields came under discussion, the statement said. The COAS thanked the visiting dignitary for her services and appreciated her contributions for fostering strong ties between the two countries. The High Commissioner expressed her grief over the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan and offered sincere condolence to the families of the victims. She offered full support of her country to the people of Pakistan. She also appreciated Pakistan’s Army efforts for rescue and relief efforts in the flood affected areas. The Army Chief thanked for Canada’s support and reiterated that assistance from Pakistan’s global partners shall be vital in rehabilitation of the flood victims.
